What we thought:
Everyone found this book charming and fun to read. We loved the
character of Precious Ramotswe and liked the opportunity to learn
a bit about the African land of Botswana. The simplicity of the
writing style beautifully evoked the spirit of an oral, storytelling
culture. We were impressed at how convincingly the author, a European
man, wrote about the experiences of a woman in Africa. We gave the
book 4 stars, and would recommend it to anyone as an extremely enjoyable
reading experience.
And an extra bonus for the evening was a tour of Gail's
new kitchen!
