Discussion date: May 12, 2003 What we thought: The book was written originally in French as an intelligence report. Possibly because of reading it in translation, and primarily because it needed much better editing, most of us found it difficult going. It did present a well-documented exposé of political and corporate intrigues that have received little play in the mass media. But it required wading through an opaque style, consisting mostly of a recitation of facts with little embellishment for the sake of popular appeal. We gave this book 4 stars for content and for sparking a lively discussion about current events, but no more than 2 stars for style: an overall rating of 3. Links of interest: www.forbiddentruth.net |
