What we thought:
The rating people gave this book depended a lot on how interested
they were in the content. Those who were highly motivated gave
it ratings of 4.5, but most people had a hard time sticking with
it and rated it 2.5 or 3.5.
We agreed that Cokie Roberts had done
an impressive amount of research and had come up with many interesting
historical tidbits, but most of us found the writing disappointing
and badly organized. We all learned a good bit about American women
of the 18th century, but as one person said, “It was too
much like homework!” Reading
