What we thought:
There was hearty discussion of this book -- knowledgeable, too,
as two of
our members had previous experience working with patients with
deep-seated
emotional problems. The horrors of treatments that were very
common in years
past was discussed. Additionally, several commented on Freud's
work and the impact it had on psychiatric treatments.
On the
whole the members found the book interesting. One person felt
the
book was not really finished. All believed that our knowledge
of the
geographic area (McLean's Hospital in Belmont, MA) was a definite
plus.
Overall rating was 4 stars.
