Bedfordshire Book Group decided to "adopt" a local worthy
cause and selected Orchard House, the Concord MA home of Louisa
May Alcott, where she wrote Little Women.
Orchard House, which has been a museum since 1911, seemed especially
appropriate because of its connection to books and reading, and
because the house has been in dire need of funds recently due to
a major reconstruction effort.
At each meeting we collect a donation from our
members, which we pass along to Orchard House.
