What we thought:
A fascinating episode of literary history, but for some readers
a bit tedious. Those who rated it 4 stars were impressed by the
excellent
writing and the amazing determination and massive efforts it took
to create the Oxford English Dictionary in the pre-computer age.
Others rated
it between 2 and 3.5 because they found it rather slow going and
wanted a bit more human interest, especially about the "Professor."
Thanks to Pat for lugging in her actual copy of the OED, along
with magnifying glass!
